Wearside Masonic Temple offers a number of diverse options when it comes to accommodating your needs. We are equipped to handle events of all sizes, from small groups to large gatherings.
THE JAMES HALL SUITE
The James Hall Suite is the main dining and function ballroom within Wearside Masonic Temple. The room is large enough to accommodate 100+ for dining and 150+ for a conference. Ideal for a wide variety of functions, the James Hall Suite's versatility enables it to cater for almost any event. The Ballroom is ventilated, airy, spacious and benefits from natural lighting. It has in the past been used for:

Wedding receptions, engagement parties and christenings;

21st birthday parties;

Corporate days, training courses and seminars;

Craft and wedding fayres;

Presentations and promotional events;

Wakes, celebrations of life and reunions;

Dance and exercise classes.
The Suite is equipped to serve meals for over 100 guests. The Ballroom is lavishly decorated and has a fully-licensed bar and lounge attached to it. The bar is well-stocked and competitively priced, and the lounge is a comfortable social area where light refreshments can be enjoyed.
We believe that the James Hall Suite is a worthy rival to other functions rooms in the area and a viewing is highly recommended. We are also proud to offer the hire of the James Hall Suite at a very competitive price.
THE TEMPLE
The Temple is where our Masonic meetings are hosted and is arguably one of the most beautiful rooms in Sunderland. The room will seat 100+ around the outside of the room in theatre-style seating. Additional seating can also be accommodated.
This magnificent room is the perfect setting to host a number of events, including:

Business meetings;

Conferences;

Music recitals.
The Temple is lavishly decorated and furnished, with its distinctive chequerboard carpet and grandiose "Master's Chair" at the east end of the room. There is also large projector screen installed in the west. A small anteroom is just outside the door.
The Temple is a truly unique setting for your function and is guaranteed to turn the heads of those who have not seen it in person; a viewing is highly recommended.
THE HAROLD BARNES SUITE
The Harold Barnes Suite is a smaller function room and is ideally suited to business meetings and seminars. However, the room has been used in the past for a number of social occasions.
Like its counterpart within the building, the room benefits from natural light and is flexible in its use. Ordinarily, the room is equipped with a large conference table which will comfortably seat 20 people. However, additional seating and tables can be provided to increase this capacity or this conference table can be removed and replaced.
The Harold Barnes Suite has a bar and servery area attached to it from which light refreshments can be served.
